Take part in the Siegen Women’s Run

Are you a keen runner? Are you interested in supporting our 54 year old partnership with the German town of Siegen? Then why not take part in this year’s edition of the Siegen Women’s Run, taking place from 6th-13th September – don’t worry you won’t need to fly to Germany to take part!

How does it work?

Taking part is simple and free.

  1. Firstly, you’ll need to register for the race here: https://my.raceresult.com/156535/ (deadline for registering is the 04 September). You’ll then receive all the necessary starting documents.

  2. Once you’ve registered, you can take part by running any distance you like, either on your own or as part of a group. If you’re a keen runner who likes a bit of competition you can run 6.6 km using a smartwatch or running app to record your route. This will allow you to see where you rank on the race leader board. Whatever option you choose, you will need to complete your run at some point between the 6th and 13th September 2020.

  3. Next step is to enter your run details on the Siegen Women’s Race website which you can do manually. If you’re running the 6.6km you will need to send a link or screenshot of your recorded run to info@siegener-womensrun.de, stating your name and race number. You’ll then be ranked on the race leader board.

  4. After the race you’ll be able to download your very own finishers’ certificate.

If running’s not your thing then don’t worry you can still take part by completing a swim, cycle or any other activity that suits you. Whatever activity you choose, please remember to be safe and follow social distancing guidelines.

Anything else?

If you do take part, please send us some photos at international.relations@leeds.gov.uk and we’ll share them on social media and with our partners in Siegen.
