Last week a group of Leeds teachers and representatives from Leeds City Council visited Lille to exchange ideas on children’s citizenship. This visit was part of the CIVIC project run by LCC International Relations and funded by Comenius Regio. There was plenty of discussion about the differences between the English and French school system, observation of teaching and playwork and Crepe eating.
Leeds participants visited schools, spoke with children, teachers and playworkers and attended a celebration event for Ville de Lille’s student council, hosted by the Mayor.
The CIVIC project will run for two years and promotes children’s citizenship through voice and influence. Schools will also strengthen links between students and help them gain international awareness!
